Wireless Technician
- Location: White River Junction, VT
Position Description
Field Technician responsible for maintaining cell sites within an assigned area of responsibility (will require travel outside this area). Position is for the Southwestern area of VT. Position will require use of ATV and/or snowmobile for winter access and work in poor weather conditions. Experience in Ericsson GSM and Ericsson UMTS networks as well as microwave network maintenance. Must have a positive attitude and be able to work alone or in a team environment as well as be able to adapt to rabidly shifting priorities. Position will require meeting all company defined qualifications to drive a company vehicle.
Position Qualifications
Experience with Ericsson GSM cell site maintenance required.
Working knowledge of the following is also desirable:
Network transport maintenance, T1/T3 installation and testing.
True Position LMU/E911.
Antenna testing and diagnosis.
Microwave radio network maintenance/installation.
Cell site power systems.
Basic hand tools specific to this job and multimeter.
PC skills:
Familiarity with Ericsson and/or Nokia OSS and related software.
Familiarity with MS Office applications.
Familiarity with ZK Celltest or similar drive test equipment.
Proper and safe operation of ATV and snowmobile equipment.
Proper and safe off road driving when accessing remote cell sites.
Candidates will be required to complete and pass company developed certification program within a specific time after employment starts. This will include training and certification testing.
Candidates must have a valid driver's license and meet all company safe driving standards. Candidates will ideally reside within their area of responsibility and be able to lift/move 50lbs.
